Driver App V2- New, Improved, Amazing.

Alright y'all, the new Driver App is now live and ready for you to check out. It's BRAND NEW and I'd consider it ready for Alpha testing, which means- take a look, see what you think, report any bugs or issues (there is a form on the settings page that goes straight to the Kiva Logic email!)

To use it, just go to the normal Driver App, and there is a banner with a link to v2. From there, you can bookmark it or install the PWA on your phone.

Here's a list of some of our favorite features here:

• Progressive Web App (PWA) so drivers can 'install' it on their phone. It's self-contained, so it includes it's own login/logout to keep it all within the PWA
• Beautiful new modern interface
• Offline capability so drivers can still see their route data even with no signal! Changes are synced once they get signal again
• Save a photo of the delivery
• For optional delivery notes, drivers can use a 'quick note' to select things like 'left at side door', or they can use their phones voice capability to leave a note instead of typing. (they can still just type too)
• Light/Dark mode!
• Addresses with multiple stops visually show as one stop, and the driver can mark all the deliveries at that address as delivered at the same time.
• Driver can REORDER the stops- they can click a button, drag and drop stops around, and save the new order. A warning is displayed that if a stop's new number differs from the original stop number so they don't grab the wrong box. The original stop number is saved, and they can also revert back to the original order.

Why No Live Turn-by-Turn?

One big decision made that will probably get asked a lot: Why not turn-by-turn in-app directions? One reason, it's expensive, SO, we have a navigate button that automatically detects the users phone and opens a link to their Mapping App (google maps, or whatever). The driver can override the detection if it's not working for them on the 'Settings' page.

A side piece of this project is a new 'Driver Tracking' page on the admin that will show you what stops have been delivered and you can see where each of your drivers is.

There's a ton of awesome features here, and has been a pretty big build-out. A lot of pieces reach out into other places like... on the order detail page, if the driver delivered and took a picture you will be shown the time AND the image. There is full documentation here:

Side notes

Admins can use magic links to login now too... the system checks their username and email :) That never worked before, so normal login and the driver app login are good.

There is a new admin email template for 'Your order has been delivered!'. We already have an SMS message that is sent, so now we have an email as well.
