Use Case · Delivery Day

Run delivery day on rails.

Everything that has to happen the day orders go out, the reminders, the cutoffs, the billing, the labels, the tracking emails, happens by itself on a schedule instead of on your shoulders. You get a clean, locked-in count to pack and a driver app to finish the job on the road.

Open the week, remind your customers, lock the count, bill and label automatically, then deliver and prove it, all without doing it by hand.

Where Delivery Day Breaks

The day orders go out is when the small stuff piles up.

A count that keeps moving, a stack of reminders and charges to run by hand, and no proof at the door when a customer asks where their box went. Every one of those is a place the day slips.

The count that never sits still

A last-minute add or change after you have started packing throws off the number you are packing to. Without a hard cutoff, the count you trust is never actually final.

The by-hand busywork

Emailing reminders, running charges, printing labels, sending tracking. Done by hand every single delivery, it is the busywork that eats the morning and where a step gets missed.

No proof at the door

A customer says the box never came. Without a note, a photo, or a delivered flag from the driver, you are guessing, and eating the redelivery to keep the peace.

How It Helps

The whole day, driven by the software.

The platform opens the week, reminds your customers, locks the count, runs the billing and labels, and gives your driver a way to finish and prove each stop.

The weekly cycle opens itself

A weekly cycle engine opens each new delivery week and emails every customer with an open order their weekly order reminder, with an optional SMS on top. Orders move through their statuses on their own, from open to closed to delivered to complete.

Route cutoffs lock the count

Each route locks a set number of hours before its delivery, so the count you pack to is final. Late changes roll to next week instead of scrambling today, and you pack once against a number that will not move.

Nothing double-processes

Orders are locked while they are being processed, so when the day's jobs all run at once, an order is never billed twice or handled twice. The heavy lifting can run in parallel without stepping on itself.

The busywork runs on a schedule

Automated jobs handle the repetitive parts of delivery day: shipping-label creation for ship and mail orders, auto-billing inside a set time window, tracking emails, and pickup and delivery reminder emails. It happens without you clicking through it.

Delivered, and proven, in the driver app

On the road, the driver marks a stop delivered, adds a note, uploads a photo, or flags "could not deliver", and the customer gets a push or SMS notification. See the delivery routing and driver app page for the full on-the-road detail.

Delivery day is built into the platform.

Not a bolt-on. The cycle engine, the cutoffs, the automated jobs, and the driver app come from fifteen years of running local delivery businesses on one platform.

Common questions.

How does the weekly cycle work?

A weekly cycle engine opens each new delivery week, emails every customer who has an open order their weekly order reminder, and can send an optional SMS as well. From there orders move through their statuses on their own, from open to closed to delivered to complete.

What is a route cutoff?

Each route locks a set number of hours before its delivery. Once the cutoff passes, the count you pack to is final and any late change rolls to the next week, so you are never re-packing against a moving number.

What runs automatically on delivery day?

Automated jobs handle shipping-label creation for ship and mail orders, auto-billing inside a set time window, tracking emails, and pickup and delivery reminder emails. Orders are locked while they process, so nothing gets billed or handled twice when the jobs run together.

How does the driver finish a stop?

In the driver app, the driver marks the stop delivered, adds a note, uploads a photo, or flags "could not deliver", and the customer gets a push or SMS notification. That gives you proof at the door instead of a guess. The delivery routing page covers the driver app in full.
