Add to a Customer's Next Order

Just added a little tool that's going to make customer service a lot faster. You can now drop a product straight onto a customer's next order, right from their customer page. No more waiting for the order to build so you can go add something to it.

The Add to Next Order modal on the customer page, with a product picker, a type dropdown, a custom price field and a recurring option

Open any customer, and in their Orders panel you'll see a little cart button. Click it and you get this. Pick a product, set the quantity, choose how it should go on, and hit Add. It sits in a "next order" queue and gets applied automatically the moment their next order is built.

The "how it goes on" part is the fun bit. You've got four options:

  • Purchase (Charge 'em!) ... a normal paid add-on. You can even type a custom price per unit, so "I'll give you an apple for 10 cents" is totally a thing now.
  • Bonus Item ... free, no charge.
  • Added by admin ... a freebie from you, no charge.
  • Normal Menu Item ... on the order at no retail charge.

Check the Recurring box if you want it on every delivery instead of just the next one. The same cart button shows the running list of what's queued, so you can see exactly what's going on, what it'll cost (or that it's free), and pull anything you change your mind about.

Great for the little customer service moments... a box showed up short, you want to toss in a free item to say sorry, or someone emailed asking you to "just add a dozen eggs to my next one." A few clicks instead of a note-to-self.

It's on every customer page now, nothing to turn on. Give it a try and let me know what you think!
