Kiva Logic - Friday News, shopify comparison, questions for you

Hey folks!

I have an interesting shopify/plugin comparison, a few features to share, and a couple questions. Skip ahead to the features section of this email and come back to the questions section of this email if you are short on time.

Plugin Comparison

So we are working with someone coming over from Shopify right now, and the number of plugins they use are pretty astounding. It got me thinking (uhoh), what are the most popular plugins on Shopify and do we have a similar or matching feature built in?

Turns out, we have a lot of features that on Shopify, you have to use a plugin for.

It also turns out, there are some cool ideas that we do NOT have, so I built them (and still have some more in progress).

Here is a sales-page on the Kiva Logic website that shows what it would take in plugin-cost alone to replicate features we have built in on Kiva. Turns out, a conservative estimate for just the plugins, at a base level with ZERO customers, is about $1100 per month. Wow.

Anyways- some important points for you:

  1. Keep an eye on the "What's the latest" section on the dashboard, the biggest impact features will always have a little callout there.
  2. Be aware of the 'Feature Audit' page on the admin- this has a list of all the features you might want to enable or use, and it shows if they are enabled or used! Very handy, and I keep this up-to-date.

Features now built that are popular plugins:

  1. A 'tab attention catcher' changes the title of the tab if the user goes to the sign up page and then opens a different tab (this is so dumb, but I guess it can work!)
  2. A 'back in stock' email reminder- this plops non-customers on a new drip list, and will email existing customers if they have an open order and something from their list is back in stock.
  3. A slide-out cart drawer for easier referencing of what's in their order when shopping! I am rolling this out and enabling for everyone one by one to make sure the drawer works with your individual settings/template. You can enable this early yourself if you don't want to wait, should be a few weeks before it's enabled live for everyone.
  4. A post-purchase attribution survey- get a 2nd layer of where customers heard about you, reduce sign-up friction by moving the question to after sign-up.

Follow up questions for you!

  1. We are building and getting ready for the holidays- any holiday feature ideas on your wishlist? Similar to the 'Feature Audit' admin page, I'm building a 'Holiday Audit' page that will have a checklist of sorts for this upcoming holiday season for you.
  2. Anyone using ChatGPT advertising yet? We're looking for someone that we can deploy our new OpenAI ad integration with and test out.
  3. Looking for anyone interested in connecting their inbound customer service emails with Kiva to work on features like auto draft replies, one click actions, auto preference updates, account note automation, early-cancellation warnings, and a few other things. This is some cool stuff, and if we have enough of your outbound emails, we can capture your 'email writing voice' pretty closely.

Thanks for reading, have a great day!

Wayne
